About me, my aims and principles

I am an online player specialised in playing PC game simulators about German aircraft, U-boats, Panzers and FPS ( acronym of First Person Shooter ) in games that portray German actions during the World War II era.
This thread gives a general introduction about what I do during my online daily activities and about who I am.

About me

The online tag-name that I'm using actually is Werner " Blauer Teufel " Mölders ( In the past, instead, for example, I have used several different online tag-names like Viktor Prien, xvii-Hardegen, Stab I./JG 51 - Mölders, based on the activities that I was doing at the time ).

I've got a long history of playing Luftwaffe simulators ( started to play the first title of the IL-2 Sturmovik series about in the beginning of the year 2002 ), U-boot simulators ( started to play Silent Hunter II at the end of the year 2001 ), FPS ( started to play Day of Defeat about in the year 2003 ) and been part of several online units ( like the 17. Unterseebootsflottille »Nordfront«, the XVII. Fliegerkorps »Nordfront«, the Stab I./JG 51 just to quote some of the most recent ones ) and recently I have been for about two years the main administrator of an online Luftwaffe unit, built and managed by me starting from the 20th December 2015, named " Stabsstaffel Erste Gruppe von Jagdgeschwader 51 " ( In short " Stab I./JG 51 " ) but now I have decided to abandon that project and to return to play as an individual player when I play online on the various servers available around.

Let's say that now, I'm again a " Lone Wolf "!

I like to play the various games at the best of my possibilities and skills and, above all, in a continuous, professional and serious way...let's say, to understand us, that I'm not the kind of player that likes to play a game for a week and that then switches to another one or that enters a game to shoot like a mad to everything that is moving on the screen!

Also if, actually, I prefer to play as an individual player and be not linked to any major online unit, this do not mean that I like to play alone all the times nor that I like to stay closed in my shell.
In fact I really like to play in conjunction with the other online players and I try to do it as often as I can because I think that an online game, whatever it is, played in conjunction with other online players, independently to their level of experience, becomes a lot more fun, challenging and interesting to be played.

I have in fact played, during my quite long online career, with players from all over the world: Europe, North, Central and South America, Africa, Australia, Asia.

I speak fluent English and Italian ( my mother tongue ) and I can speak and understand also a little bit of German, Spanish and Russian language ( but only a very little! )

Another thing that I really like is providing help and support to new players that join a certain game\community for the first times.
I think, in fact, that it's very important to support them as much as possible to let them feel comfortable with it and, possibly, with the support provided to them, giving them the stimulus to play many other times so that they can possibly increase the online community and, at the same time, increasing the fun experienced by all the members of it.
Independently to the game of interest played, more we are better it is, no ???!!!

As said, I play several games but I play mostly flight simulators during my daily online activities, in particular the last titles of the IL-2 Sturmovik series.

I am online, almost daily, during Euro evenings and late nights ( normally I start playing around 8:00 and 9:00 GMT ).

My aims

My intention, as much as real life permits, is to provide an environment that encourages teamwork, self-improvement and camaraderie, but without becoming overly competitive.
I like to play a diverse selection of missions, thus generating an ongoing interest in the PC games that I play online and in the history of the World War Two.
My aims are quite straight forward.
In particular I would like to:
  • Have the maximum fun possible.
  • Raise standards to provide a suitable challenge and a professional environment.
  • Diversify in the types of missions played and engender an interest in Luftwaffe and WW2 history.
  • Strive to understand and adopt historical tactics and operations.
  • Provide an environment that encourages teamwork, self-improvement and camaraderie, but without becoming overly competitive.

Game play

When I fly, I have some guiding principles, which I follow.

  1. Have fun. I play the game seriously but this remains always a game that I play in my free time so do not become overly competitive if you play with me! Without fun there's no joy! There's always room for a good banter, when playing with me!

  2. Stay alive. Do what you need to do to keep your aeroplane flying. It is better to survive the mission by retreating, aborting the mission and possibly not even firing, than to lose your aeroplane and the pilot/crew.

  3. Keep your comrades alive. Do not jeopardise your fellow players by rash actions (dangerous flying, random shooting, breaking formation, abandoning and so on).

  4. Destroy the enemy. Only once you have secured your own safety and that of your comrades you should proceed with wrecking havoc on the enemy units, whether in the air, on the ground or at sea.

  5. Help the less experienced comrades. If there is a pilot online less experienced then me, I always tend to help him to try to let improve his pilot skills and I share as much as possible my knowledge about the various aircraft/U-boats/tanks/ variants used. I'm convinced that more we share between us our online " combat experiences " more the pilot skills of the players populating the online community will grow faster, rendering the game of interest a lot more interesting and challenging to be played!

Note also that, while I do not have any age limitations towards players with which I play online, I do expect that the ones with which I play have a mature mindset and a desire to get things right.
I operate in a professional, serious and disciplined manner and I do expect that the ones that play with me respect this.

Flying with me

If you are interested in what I do or you are interested in playing online with me, then you are suggested to read the How to play with me ( ← Clickable Link! ) topic and follow the instructions reported there.
